Yoga Teacher Training Certification Course Outline

Course Overview-

Duration: 60 hours (3-4 Months) Class schedule: Weekend Classes

4 Hours Reports Preparation by students

 

 Delivery - Online + Practical

-  Objective: To provide foundational knowledge of yoga philosophy, Asanas, Pranayama, Meditation, Anatomy, and teaching methodology.

 

Module 1: Introduction to Yoga (2 hours)

 

l  History and origins of yoga

l  Explain the Meaning & Definition of Yoga

l  Paths of yoga: Bhakti, Jnana, Karma, Raja

l  Ethics and lifestyle of a yoga practitioner

 

Module 2: Yoga Philosophy (3 hours)

 

l  Introduction and Scope of Yoga Philosophy

l  Historical Roots of Yoga Philosophy

l  Six Classical Schools of Indian Philosophy (Shad Darshanas)

l  Yogic Philosophy of Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and BhagwadGeeta

l  Subtle Energy Concepts in Yogic Philosophy

 

l  Integrate Yogic Philosophy with Practice and Daily Life

Module 3: Anatomy & Physiology (10 Hours)

l  Basics of Human Anatomy in Relation to Yoga

l  Musculoskeletal System in the Context of Asana Practice

l  Respiratory and Circulatory Systems in Yoga

l  Nervous System in Yoga

l  Digestive, Endocrine & Reproductive Systems in Light of Yoga

l  Biomechanics of Yoga

l  Integrate Anatomy with Yogic Practice

 

Module 4: Asana Practice (10 hours)

 

l  Meaning and Purpose of Asanas

l  Categories of Asana Standing postures- Seated postures

Backbends and forward bends Twists and inversions Balancing postures

Relaxation techniques (Shavasana, Yoga Nidra)

l  Physiological and Psychological Benefits of Asanas

l  Principles of Sequencing and Modification

 

Module 5: Pranayama & Breathwork (6 hours)

l  Meaning, Origin, and Philosophy of Pranayama

l  Anatomy and Physiology of Breathing

l  Yogic Concept of Prana and its Five Subdivisions

l  Types and Techniques of Pranayama

 

l  Effects of Pranayama on Body and Mind

l  Integrate Pranayama with Asana and Meditation

 

Module 6: Meditation & Mindfulness (5 hours)

 

l  Meaning and Philosophy of Meditation

l  Historical and Scriptural Foundations of Meditation

l  Various Types of Meditation

l  Physiology and Psychology of Meditation

l  Meditation for Personal Growth and Well-Being

 

Module 7: Teaching Methodology (4 hours)

 

l  - Principles of sequencing a yoga class

l  - Classroom management and communication skills

l  - Adjustments and use of props

l  - Ethics of a yoga teacher

l  - Building confidence and finding teaching style

 

Module 8: Practicum (16 hours)

 

l  - Teaching practice sessions

l  - Feedback and self-reflection

l  - Final teaching assessment

 

Certification Requirements (4 hours)

l  - Complete all course modules

l  - Submit assignments of MPC questions of all Modules and self-practice logs

l  - Pass the final teaching assessment

l  - Commitment to continuous learning and practice
